What if I print a document with an odd number of pages on
duplex, how will the last page be charged?
A document with an odd number of pages, if printed double
sided will always have the last sheet of paper single sided. That
last sheet will be charged at the single sided rate. All the rest
will be charged at the double sided rate.
What if my Print Quota runs out?
You can continue to print, but you will need to buy a library
copy card and register that card for use with the Information
Commons print service. Registering is a 30-second
procedure done online.
What if my Print Quota only has a fraction of one page left in
it?
The IC printing service will charge your Print quota for the
first fraction. Your library copy card will be charged only the
balance.
What if I live in one of the Halls or Colleges?
It is the same printing system.
What if I send a black and white page to a colour
printer?
You will be charged at the colour rate. The printer has no way
of reporting how many colours were used in printing your document.
All pages printed through the colour printers are charged at the
colour rate.
How do I...?
How do I register a copy card to use with the IC print
service?
Some locations give you the option of choosing a colour
printer from the print dialogue box. Special charges apply for printing to
a colour printer.
There is a colour printer on level 3 of the Chifley library
building. You can print to this printer from any of the PCs or Macs
in the Chifley InfoPlace. For assistance, see the Infoplace
consultants on level 3 of the Chifley Library.
Colour printing is also available on level 1 of the Hancock
library building. You can print to this printer from any of the PCs
near the information desk.
Be careful when sending documents to a colour printer - all
pages will be charged at the colour price even if the document has
only two colours - black and white.
How do I print an A3 black and white page?

How do I print my document double-sided to save paper?
How you set up to print a page double-sided depends on whether
you are using a Windows PC or a Macintosh..
On a PC using Windows 2000,
follow the menu path: File > Print > Printer -

How do I set up several pages on one sheet to save paper?
How you set up to print multiple pages etc on one sheet
depends on whether you are using a Windows PC or Macintosh.
On a Windows PC, follow the
menu path: File > Print > Printer - Properties > Setup -
Multipage Printing. See the Figures

On a Macintosh, follow the
menu path: File > Print > -Layout- > Pages Per Sheet
<insert screen shot>
How do I set up several pages on one sheet AND print
double-sided to save LOTS of paper?
Just follow the instructions above for setting up multiple
pages on one sheet, then set up for two-sided printing. This is a
great way to make your quota go further. Let's say you have 12
Powerpoint slides to print. If you set up to print 6 Pages per
sheet, and also double-sided, then this will take only *one*
double-sided printed page from your quota (and cost only 7 cents if
you have no quota left).
How do I send my document to another printer if the default
printer is not working?
From the Print dialogue box click on the Printer Name
drop-down menu and select another printer name from the list. All
printers available from the list are located within the local
facility. If none of the available printers are working, then see an
InfoPlace Consultant for help.
